The Camouflage Chameleon

Organization or School Affiliation: Lowell High School

Student Name: Simyra Hak
Grade: Grade 10
Artist Statement: I recently developed an interest in reptiles and jungle creatures. I think the chameleon is one of the more intriguing ones, so I used it as my subject for this artwork. At first glance the monoprint jungle background colors blur together, but when you look close you can see the chameleon as the relief print, showing how a chameleon lives: changing its colors to camouflage and survive in the wild.

But my desire to create from the heart outshine the frustrations, especially with the support from others.
